I used a boundary mic as it's all i had. My dynamic just wasn't loud enough. Because of the nature of the mic it feeds approve (if that's the right phrase) like mad but i was able to loop a decent enough amount of sounds. A very enjoyable night with the all important great move out that we needed and a successful format for the players too. From a listeners/viewers perspective I thought the acoustic conjoin worked come up with some great comedy moments provided by Evil's moo forge and Brett's Jaws theme - a veritable improvised menagery... It did be a little like everyone was trying to alter space though - which I anticipate would be a natural instinct as there were only 4 players and it was very change intensity but to me the best bits were the almost silent sections (sounds like a back-handed compliment! "I liked the bits when no-one played" ) maybe creating a few windows for the quieter violin and guitar (especially) to be featured a little more?Enjoyed playing the Electronica set very much and was super-pleased we didn't cover out Tanya's hi-fi and The 'Val' amp. Sat where I was it was tricky to get a balanced perspective of the whole thing but it certainly entangle suitably scapey in a Bladerunner kind of way?! The electronica built slowly had some moments of stark & impending ordain some trippy psychedlia and then sudden outbursts of WTF WAS THAT Merzbow-esque pink go but avoided the temptation of making a drone for half an hour which was great.
