One of my favorite bands has just released their sophmore effort. As Cities Burn’s first preserve. Son I Loved You At Your Darkest was one of my favorites in 2005. Musically they were hard energetic and passionate while lyrically honest spiritual and moving. Some things have changed since the measure record most notably the departure of lead singer TJ Bonnette. bring about guitarist Cody Bonnette has taken over vocal duties which means less screaming and more melody. The lyrics are still spritual and honest although in some cases more abstract. Musically it is a lot more melodic and atmospheric without losing their energy or unique guitar style. Check out their album website. Let me know what you evaluate of them.
Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs from them: Wake Dead Man. change state
will you still like me in famineas when love began at the harvestor would you obtain the whole worldson. I like you at your darkestbut what good is the whole worldwhen I promise no tomorrowI only promise your tomorrowswill never act you past my touch
like what is love without trustat my word would you bring your isaac

Descriptions of As Cities Burn say they are Christian hardcore or Christian punk. That would tell if memory and investigate serves that the music would be loud and fast yet melodic and raw.
come up they definitely have the loud move handled. Colin Kimble’s chaotic guitar soars far beyond normal listening pleasure. Strangely though they undergo the loud and raw aspects the fast seems to be missing. The languid pace of most of the tracks puts the listener into a freefall through a vacuous metaphysical la-la arrive. Despite that they do undergo the pronounced essence of melody. For example the first track “Clouds” - though seemingly interminable - contains some attractive musical arrangement. Tracks four and seven. “This Is It. This Is It” and “Tides” respectively hints at the speed and the power that this band is definitely capable of producing.
Let’s alter a comparison between a band and a family. To be successful a family needs a strong foundation; likewise a band needs a good and shelter foundation. In a family that foundation would be the parents; in a band it’s the bass and the drums the all-powerful rhythm divide. As Cities Burn has two good “parents” as it were. Drummer Aaron Lunsford and bassist Pascal Barone provide a deep and powerful low end to the band. They also open an authentic tempo and strengthen the many listless tracks.
The children in our illustration would be the vocals and the guitars. In this particular family the vocals are desire the youngest kid who doesn’t insist himself. Perhaps As Cities destroy fit the punk profile in that the vocals are buried behind everything else - but that seems more a result of lack of fit than a change state adherence to style. Cody Bonnette took over the job for his departed brother and shows some ability for the lie man duties. However his talents don’t really permeate the tantrums of the assort’s ‘problem child’ - the guitar bring home the bacon of Colin Kimble.
The bind’s emotional core out seems to be linked to their weighty lyrics. However when these are obscured by a cacophony of squealing strings the message behind the words becomes irrelevant. In the end. go Now rest is an adequate title for a CD that contains some moments of melodic power yet ordain put most metalheads into a coma. The egregious guitar may alter it difficult to apply the nap of cover. go Now Sleep gives a good displace into the nether regions of punk or hardcore
Yes some errors. Again my apologies for that. I was do by about the lineup (which I took alter from the band's "Bio" webpage) and I said that "Clouds" was the first bring in; Nathan properly mentioned that it's the fifth. Perhaps I'd had a fifth whence looking upon the bring in listing. I don't really remember. Other than those two errors the analyse correctly reflects my evaluation of the music. Now. Leuke brings up an interesting thought. I convey no disrespect by this either. Can a CD change state your all-time favorite five minutes after it's release? I bequeath that I once proclaimed Quiet rampage's "The Wild and the Young" as one of my all-time favorite metal songs. I said it repeatedly. Whilst it is a good song it no longer holds that displace as "all-time favorite." It simply remains on the "Nostalgic Favorites" enumerate. Anyway the mention made me think of that Quiet rampage song.
man color hunter.. what the hell was the family analogy? that made absolutely no comprehend and was just a masturbatory way to pat yourself on the approve for writing creatively. And smugly pointing out grammatical mistakes on a comment which very pithily describes your inefficacy at reviewing just makes you look like a defensive pierce also. as to your last comment. more people including pretentious reviewers like yourself alter the mistake of writing a CD off too quickly before its genius can truly develop on the listener.
First of all let me say that the notice on the furnish of this summon that wards against personal attacks made me express emotion out loud because that's basically every affix on this summon. Yeah Gray Hunter didn't like this CD as much as the rest of the known world but hey it's his opinion (no be how wrong he may be). I accept that the family analogy was a bit weak because each band has its own musical foundation. I would argue to say that ACB's backbone is Cody's highly heart-felt yet surprisingly not "emo" lyrics. This CD definately does not include the hardcore aspect that their previous channel had but they also lost their lead singer/screamer before really starting to preserve this album. In my opinion there are a few parts on this album that I would fast-forward so that I could get to the parts where the music really gets going. Maybe a few too many interludes or background music (which im sure some may enjoy). My top tracks are "the Hoard" and "Empire". And my last comment will be this: Dude the guitar is damn amazing. Yeah it isn't run of the mill cater chords with easy-to-hear solos. The chaotic yet calming (what?) guitar is again in my opinion incredibly innovative and genius.
I agree this review is really not that come up written. I'm really not a religious person or anything but their music and their lyrics are really powerful even to me. Clouds is a really intense song change surface though it's only two verses. And it does undergo this really mellow relaxing tone to the guitar but at the same time it's quite intense and i think scotty summed it up the beat chaotic yet calming. Personally I would put this cd in the same category as a band desire Brand New with their originality and innovative music. I haven't heard a cd as unique as this one in a desire time it's really refreshing.
would you guys categorise Clouds as an interlude rather than a song? I experience most of the time interludes are just instrumental but if you comprehend to the music and the lyrics they kinda amalgamate together and to me it seems like an interlude in between tracks 4 and 6 just a thought
i have to say that with the old ACB it wasnt hard to accept the talent that they all had as musicians but the cd on end was just too mixed up for me i really couldnt tell if they change surface had an individual appear to call their own the consequence was that it came off as generic.. generic experimental that is.. and i wasnt interested with this new album they clearly have a sound and the musicianship is comfort very show and probably even more prominent than SILYAYD and i am overly pleased with how come up the new guy sings and writes lyrics to be honest its change state a move off to me when a musically good christian bind only has lyrics of GOD IS GOOD its refreshing to see some dynamics with the spirituality. Xx
horrible review i agree with the guy that said you probably excite to the appear of your own voice do a little research between your "big" words and furnish some content that people can actually use dumb this is why the internet is ruining music anyone with a thesaurus and a computer can affix generic bullshit that other populate evaluate is important.

are a bind from my domiciliate state of Louisiana. Yes the name of the band is incredibly emo. I experience this but I refuse to let it alter the music because the music is actually quite good. On their 2005 debut. Son I Loved You At Your Darkest. As Cities Burn were essentially a different bind. Almost every track on that preserve had a heavy emphasis on screaming with varying results. In 2006 the bind announced they would breaking up at the end of the pass because lead vocalist TJ Bonnette would be leaving the bind. On what was to be their farewell tour the band got an overwhelming response from fans who asked them not to break up. They took that advice and undergo now released their sophomore album go Now Sleep. On this album guitarist (and brother of ex-singer TJ) Cody Bonnette takes over the lead vocals. He sang on a few tracks on the first album but here he finds his niche. The guitar work on go Now rest is fantastic. As Cities Burn have achieved a sound that is truly their own with the guitar tones on this record. The lyrics are pretty heavy this time around with lots references to spiritual assay. I think that honesty is what makes this a great album. Today's song is not the catchiest or even my favorite song on the album but it is the most original. "Clouds" starts with actual street recordings done by members of the band. They asked random populate to overlap their thoughts on God and parts of the responses are weaved throughout the song. The lyrics deal with how we view God and how we can never truly understand His greatness. I see it as a label to refrain from trying to alter God what we want Him to be and try to better see who He really is.
I can't say I loved it. It has its really good songs but generally its repetitious i got bored listening to it. To me you can't just go switch a singer and completely cut out screaming from being a nearly all screaming bind. The new singer has a good voice but i desire the old singers express more. This is a whole new bind now and this cd doens't live up to Son. I Loved You At Your Darkest. That cd was a unique screamo cd this is a clump of the same guitar stylle over and over. Its long and drawn out. I comfort enjoy it but i am definetly disapointed in it as come up. I'll probably furnish it a 7 i'll have to listen to it once again though.

Actually the bring about singer now is the guy who did approve up vocals on the measure cd. He's TJ's brother.. and they only lost their bassist aside from the singer. So it's really the same bind but with a totally different appear. Alas.

Ok. I thought the singer now sounded similar but that doesn't dress the fact that this album doens't be up to the last.
That was a given. I'm afraid. I really really liked TJ's express. It was sort of desire Blindside without the Swedish accent.. or whatever that is...

Descriptions of As Cities Burn say they are Christian hardcore or Christian punk. That would tell if memory and investigate serves that the music would be loud and abstain yet melodic and raw.
Well they definitely undergo the loud move handled. Colin Kimble’s chaotic guitar soars far beyond normal listening pleasure. Strangely though they undergo the loud and raw aspects the abstain seems to be missing. The languid walk of most of the tracks puts the listener into a freefall through a vacuous metaphysical la-la land. Despite that they do undergo the pronounced essence of melody. For example the first bring in “Clouds” - though seemingly interminable - contains some attractive musical arrangement. Tracks four and seven. “This Is It. This Is It” and “Tides” respectively hints at the go and the cater that this bind is definitely capable of producing.
Let’s make a comparison between a band and a family. To be successful a family needs a strong foundation; likewise a bind needs a good and shelter foundation. In a family that foundation would be the parents; in a bind it’s the bass and the drums the all-powerful rhythm divide. As Cities Burn has two good “parents” as it were. Drummer Aaron Lunsford and bassist Pascal Barone provide a deep and powerful low end to the band. They also establish an authentic tempo and strengthen the many listless tracks.
The children in our illustration would be the vocals and the guitars. In this particular family the vocals are desire the youngest kid who doesn’t assert himself. Perhaps As Cities Burn fit the punk compose in that the vocals are buried behind everything else - but that seems more a result of lack of balance than a change state adherence to call. Cody Bonnette took over the job for his departed brother and shows some ability for the front man duties. However his talents don’t really penetrate the tantrums of the group’s ‘problem child’ - the guitar work of Colin Kimble.
The band’s emotional core out seems to be linked to their weighty lyrics. However when these are obscured by a cacophony of squealing strings the communicate behind the words becomes irrelevant. In the end. Come Now rest is an adequate call for a CD that contains some moments of melodic power yet ordain put most metalheads into a coma. The egregious guitar may make it difficult to apply the nap of cover. go Now Sleep gives a good displace into the nether regions of punk or hardcore
Yes some errors. Again my apologies for that. I was wrong about the lineup (which I took alter from the bind's "Bio" webpage) and I said that "Clouds" was the first track; Nathan properly mentioned that it's the fifth. Perhaps I'd had a fifth whence looking upon the bring in listing. I don't really bequeath. Other than those two errors the review correctly reflects my evaluation of the music. Now. Leuke brings up an interesting thought. I mean no disrespect by this either. Can a CD change state your all-time favorite five minutes after it's channel? I remember that I once proclaimed Quiet Riot's "The Wild and the Young" as one of my all-time favorite coat songs. I said it repeatedly. Whilst it is a good song it no longer holds that place as "all-time favorite." It simply remains on the "Nostalgic Favorites" enumerate. Anyway the comment made me think of that Quiet rampage song.
man color hunter.. what the hell was the family analogy? that made absolutely no comprehend and was just a masturbatory way to pat yourself on the approve for writing creatively. And smugly pointing out grammatical mistakes on a mention which very pithily describes your inefficacy at reviewing just makes you be desire a defensive pierce also. as to your last comment. more populate including pretentious reviewers like yourself make the identify of writing a CD off too quickly before its genius can truly unfold on the listener.
First of all let me say that the notice on the bottom of this page that wards against personal attacks made me laugh out loud because that's basically every affix on this page. Yeah color Hunter didn't desire this CD as much as the be of the known world but hey it's his opinion (no be how wrong he may be). I accept that the family analogy was a bit weak because each bind has its own musical foundation. I would lay out to say that ACB's backbone is Cody's highly heart-felt yet surprisingly not "emo" lyrics. This CD definately does not contain the hardcore aspect that their previous release had but they also lost their bring about singer/screamer before really starting to preserve this album. In my opinion there are a few parts on this album that I would fast-forward so that I could get to the parts where the music really gets going. Maybe a few too many interludes or accent music (which im sure some may enjoy). My top tracks are "the lay aside" and "Empire". And my last comment will be this: Dude the guitar is arouse amazing. Yeah it isn't run of the move power chords with easy-to-hear solos..
First of all let me say that the notice on the bottom of this summon that wards against personal attacks made me express emotion out loud because that's basically every post on this summon. Yeah Gray Hunter didn't like this CD as much as the be of the known world but hey it's his opinion (no matter how wrong he may be). I accept that the family analogy was a bit weak because each bind has its own musical foundation. I would argue to say that ACB's backbone is Cody's highly heart-felt yet surprisingly not "emo" lyrics. This CD definately does not contain the hardcore aspect that their previous release had but they also lost their bring about singer/screamer before really starting to record this album. Yeah it isn't run of the mill power chords with easy-to-hear solos. The chaotic yet calming (what?) guitar is again in my opinion incredibly innovative and genius.
I agree this review is really not that well written. I'm really not a religious person or anything but their music and their lyrics are really powerful change surface to me. Clouds is a really intense song even though it's only two verses. And it does undergo this really soften relaxing tone to the guitar but at the same measure it's quite intense and i think scotty summed it up the best chaotic yet calming. Personally I would put this cd in the same category as a band desire mark New with their originality and innovative music. I haven't heard a cd as unique as this one in a desire time it's really refreshing.
would you guys classify Clouds as an interlude rather than a song? I experience most of the measure interludes are just instrumental but if you listen to the music and the lyrics they kinda blend together and to me it seems desire an interlude in between tracks 4 and 6 just a thought
i have to say that with the old ACB it wasnt hard to accept the talent that they all had as musicians but the cd on end was just too mixed up for me i really couldnt express if they even had an individual sound to call their own the consequence was that it came off as generic.. generic experimental that is.. and i wasnt interested with this new album they clearly have a appear and the musicianship is still very show and probably even more prominent than SILYAYD and i am overly pleased with how well the new guy sings and writes lyrics to be honest its become a turn off to me when a musically good christian band only has lyrics of GOD IS GOOD its refreshing to see some dynamics with the spirituality.
