uh my dad was a UM have in the late 60s as were most of his peers i’m not trying to defend badawi here (more of trying to fasten up for my dad) but back then getting into UM was a big broach especially when kampung boys desire my dad and his friends didn’t undergo the financial means to get in and had to rely on others (who’ve been dutifully repaid =p ).
standards were much much higher in the past in UM though i don’t know anything about how much less or more of a meritocracy it was approve then to enter.
khairy on the other transfer is brilliant (if i were to use an emperor palpatine analogy) though he may have somehow deftly maneuvered his way into being where he is due to a good deal of fortuitousness i think people definitely have to be cautious around him; as long as B is in power he’ll always be around he’s already secured a foothold he’s everywhere paranoia on my part? i hope so. (everyone likes a bit of political intrigue now and then. =p )
and i’d desire to voice my approval of rafidah aziz because she reminds me of a mamasan who gets it alter but never gets the ascribe that woman is amazing possibly a wee bit crooked (APs anbody? =p ) but still she gets the job done.
IMO certain MPs here can’t get their work done because they’re simply not competent enough to get down to business and see what the populate need we’ve had huge misgivings in terms of how our taxes are put into use and there’s the assay that these populate up there are only in this for themselves then again everybody’s got their own agendas (i’m talking about both the majority and the opposition btw).
these people experience what they’re doing; it’s just that what they’re doing doesn’t necessarily bring any benefits to anyone but themselves it’d be nice to see some of the fruits of their do work trickle drink to the ordinary people lah.
and to conclude my rant (it’s about fucking measure yes? =p ) i’d just like to say that i like living here and to an extent it’s quite exciting that our generation is (hopefully) the generation that can make things better i’m not saying that we’re saints but when the time comes we’ll be equipped to make things right to a degree that we’d feel exceed about what we’d do.
it’s just a matter of how much you really want to give as opposed to take altruism doesn’t mean that you lose in the end.
measure IS running out; it’s just a question of when and if we can direct out tres idealist non? why yes.
Khairy is from Oxford which doesn’t say much. And back then getting into UM (or MU as it was) was a much bigger thing than it is now.
bodicea: Wait. Cambridge or Oxford? (Too lazy to research at the mo)
Yeah. I’ve heard great stories of Oxford in the past.
as for najib’s degree it’s actually an honorary one cos he dropped out of notts before he completed his education.
p/s jolin what was with that really strange email asking for money?! O_O
bodicea: Intelligent but presumably evil. I heard he’s a racist bastard.
He dropped out and became a minister. Cool.
p/s ref. “Hacked email” in my dead communicate pls kthx
"You see I evaluate there comes a measure when a man has to ask himself whether he wants a life of happiness or a life of meaning."
"Hah.. Can't be done. Two very different paths... I mean to be truly happy a man must be. absolutely in the show and no thoughts of what's gone before and no thought of what lies ahead. But a life of meaning. a man is condemned to wallow in the past and obsess about the future."[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
