burn dvds

Hi all here is my problem. I used to be able to burn dvds perfect with nero but lately every dvd i burn skips once it gets to the end of the disc. I have tried different blank dvds ive also tried burning at slower speeds. I thought my burner was shot so i bought a new one and installed it still undergo the same problem. I have to questions the 1st is does anyone have any other suggestions to try that i havent mentioned and 2 are there any other burning software besides nero that i can use to make my own dvds out of files. Thats all i do i dont need a program to make dvds from other dvds i like to make my own from files and make my own chapters and menues and such. I'm looking to try to burn DVDs. I undergo a general idea of how to do it... DVD Decrypter... DVD Shrink... NERO. I burned Citizen Kane a few months ago and it worked to perfection. This past week I tried to burn Broadcast News. Fargo and The measure King of Scotland and it just didn't bring home the bacon. I got Broadcast News to actually burn but when it plays it stops halfway through. The other two movies fail mid burn. I can't figure it out. Is there another despatch to go to burn these DVDs or am I totally stuck? use Shrink and capture an ISO - then burn the ISO with Nero (or something). Of course it just plain stops at 36% just like when i try to burn with all the other files. No matter what I do it seems to get about 1/3 done and then stop. It burns music and data dvds with no problem at all. Its the movies that are giving me trouble. Is there any other solution to this?By the way the movie is Raging bear on. Could there be some choose of write protection on these dvds? try a few different burning programs to see if they all stop at 36.. you should be able to do test burns on most of them too so you don't waste the dvds (if they aren't the problem themselves)also might try lowering burn speed down a notch or 2 from your maximumas for write protection.. if it was there dvd shrink would notify you and try to shift it.. if no message there then that can't be the problem. I tried burning the iso at 2x with NERO at it burned all the way through but on playback it is slow. Like a video bet on a computer that can't handle it. The burner used to fully work for a while until I discovered this problem when trying to burn some video that I recorded with my handycam onto a DVD+R. The CDs that I burnt before this problem arised were burnt with my laptop's DVR-K14L burner. I downloaded DVDinfoPro and found the Media code/Manufacturer ID to be SONY S11. I have tried using Sonic preserve Now (which came with the computer) and Windows Media Player 11 (to create an audio disc). In Sonic Record Now it gives an error during the burning process thats says that the disc might be scratched or theres dust on it but I'm very sure that thats not the problem as I have tried lots of discs and the same message comes up. I have tried different brands such as Verbatim. Sony and TDK but theres no difference comfort same problem. I mostly use Windows to view the contents of the CD/DVD directly. When I do use Windows the burnt CD/DVD discs just appear to be blank. Just to be sure that it wasn't a keep disc. I inserted the same disc into my other laptop (dont know exactly what DVD drive it has but I think it has some Sony one as its a control) which when I did my files were showing properly. Also sometimes when I insert a burnt disc into my laptop the CD/DVD label would show up and the files would be there but when I try to write or open the files it would furnish me an error and my DVD drive would disappear from the Windows explorer forcing me to restart the computer so that it would show up again. I am trying to make copies of a couple of movie dvds. I am trying to do this all for free as far as possible and so I followed a guide from this place that pointed to downloading dvd shrink (I downloaded version 3.2) and ripit4me and dvd fab decrypter i am not sure how to use these programmes and along the way then downloaded imgburn and divxplayer and divxconverter (but I don't think those were fully downloaded as I did not put my card details in) and fileburner. Could someone gratify gratify please inform out what to do in very very simple steps? I am so stuck I cannot tell you and no longer experience what to do! Please please please help!!!! HiWhat you're doing isn't simple for a first timer. We'll assume that you're not trying to rip copyrighted discs or this go ordain get pulled. Do it in a grade:-Copy the video files from the DVD onto your hard drive.(populate that rip procure discs have to shift encryption next)Shrink it drink to 4.3GB. destroy it to a DVD+-R disc.
