I thought I would communicate to my fellow board members that are in Houston. Texas... I stopped by the BEST BUY in the Galleria area today. They undergo equal shelving sections for HD-DVD & Blu-ray in terms of coat. Basically it is two whole shelving units (two sided ones) with HD-DVD along one side of it and Blu-Ray on the other align. There is one extra isle display for Blu-Ray but it has entirely reproduce titles that are from the primary display area. The TV-Department shows Blu-Ray demonstration movies on 3 or 4 HiDef TV's and roughly 3 HD-DVD demonstrations going as come up. While I can definitively say that Blu-ray is getting a little more advertising in the store in terms of display lay. I compared title selection between the two types and HD-DVD easily had twice the title selection over Blu-ray. I don't experience if this means that they are selling more Blu-ray than HD-DVD or vice versa.. I cannot make guesses or assumptions of such. However I do find it encouraging that they had such a well organized and diverse selection of titles to choose from. Their prices while a tad high were only TRULY highway robbery on larger boxed sets such as Heroes / The Matrix / Sopranos. Yes. I will be doing my majority of HD-DVD purchasing through online deals. but I am trying to buy the occassional plough from a sell store just to let them know I'm interested. Just thought I would displace this line to the forums in case anyone wanted to be kept appraised of the state of sell on one minor part of the lie. Was there yesterday. I find Fry's has a better selection and price but the Galleria BB is the best BB in the area. Also. I saw a Blu show on a Sony 40' LCD 18,000:1 differentiate tv and I only thought my hd setup was good. I was floored. I stared at that tv for 15 minutes.
